Weight issues can have many implications. I like to think of a weight issue of any kind, to a greater or lesser degree, is the body communicating that some thing needs to change. We are all programmed to slip into unhealthy habits for comfort and food is no different. You will be interested to know that once you understand the relationship between yourself and food, and get to the roots of the matter, you are then in a stronger position to understand your reactions, and start to choose healthier options.
I have been interested in food for as long as I can remember; even before I became a therapist. After all, it is enjoyable… it is nutrition… it is energy… it is a necessity to survive!!! So do you want to survive feeling at your optimum or do you want to survive feeling held back.
Before your food hits the plate; a healthier outcome requires planning. You will be interested to know that you can learn to plan better!!! You will also be interested to know that better planning leads to taking control of food. Taking control of the food you eat, rather than food having control over you. And ultimately taking control of your life.
Unhealthy food choices on the surface may have an underlying psychological cause! or a physical cause! Unhealthy food choices can lead to psychological and physical issues.
As a Qualified Experienced Counsellor I am trained to work at a much deeper level starting with the conscious mind, and thereafter exploring your inner personal world deeper, (getting beneath the surface and beyond the symptoms), the process starts at the point of assessment/s so that your pathway forward becomes clearer from the beginning.
As a Qualified Experienced Hypnotherapist I specialise in helping people to start taking control of their weight issues; working with the subconscious/unconscious mind, as well as the conscious mind, to help behaviour change. Habits reside in the subconscious/unconscious mind. Once on the right track for you; most people can usually maintain this with a little top-up if required.
As a Qualified Experienced NLP Life Coach I can help you to maintain your weight control for the longer-term. Some people seem to be able to control their weight for a short period of time only. Yoyo dieting is communicating mixed messages to your body, and therefore you body will not serve you well, with mixed messages being received. The relationship between you and your body, like any other relationship, needs to be built on good effective clear communication for a win-win outcome.
As a rule I prefer to help people to explore the relationship with food initially in about 4-6 sessions, and make some autonomous changes for the better. These changes happen within a therapeutic process, and can be embraced as well as measured to build a solid healthy foundation; where you collate your own personal information data base in respect of your relationship with food and as time goes on you become more and more informed about the decisions and choices you make, the decisions and choices which are unique to you and the outcome you want.
I am also HYPNO-BAND Weight Loss System™ practitioner, in addition to holding a Diploma in Weight Control; however, for best results I underpin the Hypno-band and/or weight-management with Counselling; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Hypnosis for healthy eating and/or coupled with coaching; Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), for an all rounded flexible approach, to achieve best results.
